Department of Information and Press of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), in response to a request from the "Verelq" information and analytical center, commented on Azerbaijan’s so-called "trial" of former Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) state minister Ruben Vardanyan and some other former military and political leaders of Artsakh.

"We have commented on this topic in previous briefings. (…), the mentioned persons are not citizens of Russia.

We are confident that the inclusion of humanitarian issues on the agenda of the Armenian-Azerbaijani bilateral negotiations will contribute to the formation of a climate of trust between Baku and Yerevan.

For our part, we confirm our commitment to the trilateral agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, including the need to address issues such as respect for the rights of refugees, the preservation of cultural, historical and religious heritage, the search for missing persons during hostilities, and the exchange of prisoners.

We are ready to provide our Azerbaijani and Armenian colleagues with the necessary assistance,” the Department of Information and Press of the Russian said in its response.
