Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the work on overcoming problems and contradictions in relations between Russia and the United States has not even started yet, Lavrov said.

According to him, it is too early to assess the results and make “far-reaching conclusions” on the results of contacts between Moscow and Washington, RBC reports.

He noted that the new U.S. administration is making “steps in the right direction,” but one should not get too far ahead.

“We appreciate them, but, I repeat, it is premature to draw any deep conclusions on this basis,” Lavrov added.
