Despite the announcement of the end of the security operation on the Syrian coast, armed groups continue to commit criminal acts against the population. This was reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR)

Armed groups entered the town of Harisoun in the Banias countryside along with Defense Ministry forces and began looting and burning citizens' homes and property. This came alongside Damascus' announcement of the end of the coastal security operation.

The town was also bombed with various weapons despite the fact that the residents fled to agricultural lands.

The residents of Harisoun called for urgent intervention and the visit of a UN delegation that has arrived in Banias and is touring the Syrian coast.

Living conditions on the coast and in the mountains have deteriorated due to the ongoing shortage of food and basic necessities.
