Rescuers have found the dead body of the person who was missing due to the avalanche on Armenia’s Mount Aragats on Tuesday.

Search and rescue operations had resumed as of 6am Wednesday.

An emergency team from the Aragatsotn provincial rescue department, one fire and rescue squad, and an emergency team were dispatched to the scene.

Seventeen rescue workers, 13 rescue workers from the rescue forces department's special rescue operations center, one employee of the Aragats Hydroelectric Power Plant, and four climbers from the Armenian Mountaineering and Mountain Tourism Federation, and one helicopter also were involved in the search and rescue operations.

Rescuers discovered the body of the missing person at 10:15am.

Earlier, we reported that at 3:26pm on Tuesday, the crisis management center of the Aragatsotn provincial rescue department of Armenia received a report that an avalanche had occurred on the northern peak of Mount Aragats, an expedition team consisting of nine people was trapped under the avalanche, eight of them had gotten out, but one person was missing.
