Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked US President Donald Trump for his attention to the resolution of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Kommersant reported.

He also noted the contribution of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders to resolving the issue.

“As for Ukraine's readiness for a ceasefire, I will now say, of course, how I assess it. But I would like to start by thanking U.S. President Mr. Trump for paying so much attention to the settlement in Ukraine,” Vladimir Putin said at a news conference following talks with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

“We all have enough of our own current affairs, but many leaders of states - the chairman of the People's Republic of China, the prime minister of India, the presidents of Brazil and the Republic of South Africa - are engaged in this issue, devote a lot of time. We are grateful to all of them for this, because this activity is aimed at achieving a noble mission - the mission of ending hostilities and human losses,” Putin said.
