Iran welcomes the agreement on the text of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This is noted in a statement by the Iranian embassy in Armenia—and which is posted on X.

The statement adds that Tehran considers this a necessary and important step on the path to lasting peace in the South Caucasus, said Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei.

He hopes that the two parties will make efforts to resolve and eliminate differences, and soon "we will witness the signing of a peace agreement between the two countries."
