A telephone conversation was held, at the initiative of the Armenian side, between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Kremlin press service reports.

Pashinyan announced the completion of the approval of the text of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and Yerevan's readiness to sign this important document.

Putin emphasized in this regard that Russia has always supported and continues to support the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations in the interests of security, stability, and sustainable socioeconomic development in the South Caucasus. To achieve these goals, both Armenia and Azerbaijan can always count on any possible assistance from the Russian side, the Russian president added.

Some matters on the further development of mutually beneficial Russian-Armenian relations were also touched upon.

Also, the Armenian prime minister confirmed that he accepts the invitation by the Russian president and will attend the anniversary events to be held in Moscow on May 9—and dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
