We can send the constitutions of both countries for review to find out whether these claims are true or not. The speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, told this to reporters in the NA Monday—and referring to the accusations from Azerbaijan that there are territorial claims against Azerbaijan in Armenia’s constitution, and therefore the latter should be amended.

“Because one can always say, for example, ‘I don’t like the color of your hair,’ or ‘I don’t like your handwriting,’ or something; but there must be a rationalization under everything. Up until this point, in the negotiations with Azerbaijan, we [i.e. Armenia] have tried to have a rationalization under everything and have worked with them with that logic. I believe that the continuation will also be logical and substantiated. For example, we can send the constitutions of our two countries to the Venice Commission and send a query. Let the Venice Commission conditionally say whether there is such a thing or not," added the Armenian NA speaker.
