If Azerbaijan is so worried about the EU monitors, it is itself keeping these monitors on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan. The speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, told this to reporters in the NA Monday.

“Because from the moment it signs, our agreement will come into force,” added Simonyan.

To the remark that removing the European Union civilian monitoring mission in Armenia from the border with Azerbaijan will give the latter the opportunity to periodically violate the ceasefire, create a backdrop for aggression, and blame the Armenian side for it, the Armenian NA speaker said: "If after signing the peace treaty, there shall again be an attack on the Republic of Armenia, that attack will occur in the presence of EU monitors also. What difference does it make?

If you sign a document, you go, sign it conditionally in the presence of EU leaders or in the presence of the presidents of some countries, and then attack Armenia, if you can afford [it], they will also shoot at, attack the EU monitors."
