Past daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: Over the past two days, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia dismissed several times the lies spread by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan about the shelling of Azerbaijani positions by Armenian forces. Moreover, the European Union Monitoring Mission in Armenia has also effectively dismissed the fake news spread by Azerbaijan. (…).

What does this mean? There are viewpoints that Baku is not spreading such disinformation with such frequency by chance. In particular, the “Republic Square” Telegram channel believes that Azerbaijan is creating informational grounds for military aggression against Syunik [Province of Armenia]; that is, Baku wants to have a casus belli to open the so-called “Zangezur corridor.” (…).

On the other hand, according to the authors, Azerbaijan wants to achieve the withdrawal of the EU monitors. (…).

Regarding the matter that the new US administration demands from [Azerbaijani president] Aliyev to release the [Armenian] captives, the [aforesaid] channel notes that this is, of course, bad news for Baku, as Trump wants to achieve peace in the South Caucasus (…). According to the authors, the US wants to have a peaceful South Caucasus so that it can transport oil and [natural] gas from the Caspian basin and Central Asia without hindrance.

On the other hand, Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu announced that the construction of the Turkish section of the so-called “Zangezur corridor” will begin in the coming months. (…).

"Thus, the ‘Zangezur corridor’ is the logistics of Greater Turan, and the Ankara-Baku tandem will do everything—even resort to military provocation—to open it, as this corridor will bring billions of dollars and geopolitical influence to Turkey, and Azerbaijan is a connecting bridge for Central Asia and Turkey," the Telegram channel summarizes.
