Russia will not stop, and even if a ceasefire is established in Ukraine, it will want to start a war again within a few years, so Europe must be ready, according to Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

The Czech premier spoke at the "Our Security is not Guaranteed" security conference, which is taking place in Prague, Novinky reports. Fiala insists that Europe must prepare for a possible conflict with Russia—even at the cost of abandoning green policies.

"We know that Russia needs four to six years to prepare for a new war—and that is the time we need to prepare," Fiala said.

According to the Czech PM, Europe has received a clear signal from the new US administration of President Donald Trump that it must take care of its own defense and start arming itself more, strengthen its economy and internal security, and uncompromisingly expel illegal migrants.

 “We must have something in our hands to restrain Russia,” the Czech premier noted. He added that it remains only to grit their teeth and invest in their own defense.

According to the Czech prime minister, Europe must review its green policy, the so-called Green Deal, and invest in weapons instead of carbon dioxide.

“Enemies do not wait for Europe to complete its green transition,” Fiala said.

He added that “carbon dioxide should be put on the back burner” while patents and the production of tanks and aircraft should come to the fore.
