If Azerbaijan attacks, we will defend the territory of Armenia. Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, told reporters this on Thursday.

“The Ministry of Defense of Armenia will defend Armenia; there are no questions here,” Grigoryan assured.

Also, he called “lies” Azerbaijan’s latest accusations against Armenia that as if the latter is breaking the ceasefire.

According to Grigoryan, it is very important that the European Union monitoring mission in Armenia has issued a statement on the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and that the Armenian Ministry of Defense has issued a statement that Azerbaijan’s aforesaid allegations are false.

The secretary of the Security Council added that the Armenian prime minister, in turn, has expressed his intention to maintain stability.

The Armenian official reiterated that Yerevan continues to advance the peace agenda.

"All articles of the [draft] peace treaty [between Armenia and Azerbaijan] have been agreed upon, Armenia declares that it is ready to put its signature under it and is ready to begin discussing technical matters regarding the timeframe and venue of signing the document. The text [of the draft peace treaty] has already been agreed upon, we [i.e. Armenia] are advancing the agenda for its signing," Armen Grigoryan noted.
