Special Representative of the Minister for Assistance to the Normalization of Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan Yuri Anatolievich Khovayev is ready to come to the region to hold relevant consultations. This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova at a briefing today, March 20.

“We, firstly, welcome the progress that has been made in the peace process between Baku and Yerevan, the completion of negotiations on the text of the peace agreement and the establishment of interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia. This is a significant step towards long-awaited security, prosperity in the South Caucasus. The relevant commentary was posted on the website, you know. And, of course, there are a number of other issues on the peace agenda, important issues, global issues even, I would say, which are waiting for solutions. These include the unblocking of transportation and economic ties in the region, and, of course, delimitation and the humanitarian block. But we, in turn, confirm our readiness to support our colleagues in Azerbaijan and Armenia on all tracks in this form, I mean in this sphere, in the form, in the volume in which it will be demanded by both sides.
