During an event held on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the entry into full force of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the European Union (EU) and Armenia, representatives of the EU delegation and the Armenian government highlighted the deepening of the Armenia-EU partnership, assessed the progress in the implementation of the CEPA roadmap, and discussed ways to increase the effectiveness of this agreement, the press service of the Armenian government informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The event brought together about 80 participants.

In his remarks, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, reaffirmed the fact that CEPA is the main legal framework of EU-Armenia relations and lauded Armenia's commitment to reforms—despite the existing challenges.

Maragos said they appreciate the respective progress made by the Armenian authorities, but they need to jointly accelerate this reform process and deepen EU-Armenia cooperation, fully utilizing the full potential of CEPA, especially in terms of implementing EU standards in economic development.

Armenia and the EU will soon conclude negotiations on a new partnership agenda, which will expand their cooperation in domains such as security sector reforms and EU visa liberalization, Maragos added.
