The Foreign Intelligence Service, within the framework of its mandate, collects, summarizes, and presents intelligence information to the political leadership, and the issues related to the captives have also been the target of our work. This was stated by the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service (FIS) of Armenia,  Kristinne Grigoryan, speaking with reporters in the National Assembly Friday.

The reporters asked Grigoryan to provide details on what exactly has been done in this regard, to which she which responded: “The question of detailing the work of the Intelligence Service is not correct from a professional point of view. The task of the Foreign Intelligence Service is to assess the external risks around the Republic of Armenia, also, to inform the public—within the limits of what is possible and permissible—about what risks there are.”

“As for the emphasis, agree that such a question is the first question that interests the public—about the intentions, the possibility of the attack, etc. Our task was to assess the probability of an attack [on Armenia by Azerbaijan] objectively and from a professional point of view, to the extent possible, which we have done,” she added.

And asked whether she now sees a possibility of such an attack or not, Grigoryan replied: “At the moment, the set of all the facts and signals necessary to assess the probability of an attack highly is missing. But the situation is changing rapidly, and we are monitoring the situation.”
