The inviolability of the border between Armenia and Iran is of vital importance for both countries. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated at a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
The Minister said he presented to his colleague the situation with the Armenian-Azerbaijani border delimitation and peace agreement. Ararat Mirzoyan reaffirmed Armenia's aspiration for the final establishment of peace and stability in the region. According to him, the signing of the agreed text of the draft peace treaty with Baku can become an important stage on that way.
The RA Foreign Minister thanked Iran for its position on the issue: “We have repeatedly stated that we highly appreciate Iran's clear position on the inviolability of Armenia's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Just as for Iran, the inviolability of the border between our countries is of vital importance for Armenia”.
The minister said that international issues were discussed during the meeting. “For my part, I emphasized Armenia's readiness to contribute to Iran's dialog with our friendly countries,” Mirzoyan noted.
