The Russian Federation and Armenia continue a multifaceted political dialog, the leaders of the two countries are in constant contact, and the Armenian Prime Minister has accepted an invitation to visit Moscow for the celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory. This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova at the weekly briefing.

According to Zakharova, the Russian and Armenian Foreign Ministers also held constructive talks: "Consultations of the deputy foreign ministers of the two countries have recently taken place: intergovernmental and inter-parliamentary mechanisms are working, active interdepartmental cooperation is underway, a round table was held on the problems of agro-industrial complex. There are initiatives in the cultural, educational and humanitarian spheres. It is planned that next month the Armenian delegation will visit the Sirius Educational Center to speed up the opening of the Russian educational center for gifted children in Jermuk".

In addition, according to the diplomat, economic ties between the two countries are also developing: "Last year our trade turnover set an absolute record, amounting to almost 12 billion dollars. I think that Yerevan feels this self-practical benefit of participation in the EAEU, realizes its importance for the country's socio-economic stability and security."

Zakharova noted that Russia and Armenia also interact in other international platforms, particularly the UN: "Our approaches in the global agenda coincide or are close. Yerevan traditionally supports and becomes a co-author of most Russian resolutions. But there are issues that have not been resolved yet or require their own resolution in order not to damage bilateral relations".
