Armenia's membership in the EU and the EAEU are not mutually acceptable things, they are mutually exclusive by specific parameters, not for ideological reasons. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a weekly briefing.

"EU membership and EAEU membership are not mutually acceptable things. They are, unfortunately or fortunately, everyone can decide for themselves, things mutually exclusive only on specific parameters, not based on ideological or political attitudes," Zakharova explained.

The day before, the Armenian parliament adopted in the second and final reading a bill on the country's intention to join the EU.
