More than 500 people, including eight staff members of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), have been killed in the Gaza Strip in the past seven days, UNRWA Secretary General Philippe Lazzarini said.

According to him, "humanitarian aid has not been delivered to the sector for more than three weeks, although up to 600 trucks with all the necessary supplies arrived in the enclave every day during the ceasefire." Against this backdrop, the Israeli armed forces continue to shell the region," Lazzarini emphasized, calling on the Israeli authorities "to open checkpoints for the normal flow of humanitarian aid."
