Does Armenia plan to pay its annual membership fees to the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) budget? In response to a request from Sputnik Armenia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia commented on this topic.
“The Armenian side has officially informed the CSTO Secretariat that it will refrain from signing the CSTO CSC [i.e. the Collective Security Council] decision ‘On the CSTO 2024 Budget’ and from participating in the financing of the organization’s activities envisaged by it,” the Armenian MFA said.
It added that according to CSTO internal procedures, information on this organization’s annual budget is not public.
Earlier, Russian deputy foreign minister Aleksandr Pankin had stated that if Armenia does not pay its membership fees to the CSTO budget by the end of 2025, the organization’s other member states “may consider various scenarios.”
