Prime Minister Min Aung Hlaing has declared a one-week national mourning in Myanmar due to the earthquake that killed more than 1,700 people, MRTV reports.

“In connection with the human losses, days of mourning have been declared [in Myanmar], from March 31 to April 6, at the national level,” the respective order said.

A powerful earthquake struck Myanmar on March 28. According to the Thai Meteorological Department, this tremor was felt in Thailand, China, and Vietnam also.
