Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, Filip Ivanovic, the PM’s office informs.

The premier welcomed the visit of the deputy prime minister of Montenegro to Armenia, and expressed a conviction that it will give a new impetus to the further development of bilateral relations. Pashinyan emphasized that the Armenian government is interested in intensifying cooperation with Montenegro in political, economic, and other domains.

In turn, Ivanovic underscored the consistent development of Armenia's traditional relations. The deputy premier of Montenegro added that the purpose of his visit to Armenia is to discuss the opportunities and further steps to promote bilateral cooperation.

In this context, they touched upon the expansion of trade and economic ties, and cooperation in education and tourism. Both sides stressed the importance of increasing air flights, which will contribute to the increasing of human contacts and the deepening of business ties between Armenia and Montenegro. Views were exchanged also on promoting cooperation between the capitals of the two countries: Yerevan and Podgorica.

Nikol Pashinyan and Filip Ivanovic discussed as well the matters of regional importance. In particular, they touched upon the agreeing on the text of the draft agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In this connection, PM Pashinyan emphasized the Armenian government’s commitment to the peace agenda. Filip Ivanovic, for his part, expressed Montenegro's support for the efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region.
