The United States imposed new Iran-related sanctions against six entities and two individuals on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Treasury Department's website.

The sanctioned individuals and entities “were responsible for procuring components for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on behalf of Iran's Qods Aviation Industries (QAI), the lead manufacturer for Iran's UAV program,” according to the department.

“Today's measures are the second round of sanctions targeting Iranian weapons proliferators since President Donald Trump reinstated a 'maximum pressure' policy against the Islamic Republic,” the US Treasury Department said in a statement.

“Iran's proliferation of drones and missiles - both to its terrorist allies in the region and to Russia for use against Ukraine - continues to threaten civilians, U.S. personnel, and our allies and partners,” U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said.

“Treasury will continue to interdict Iran's military-industrial complex and its proliferation of UAVs, missiles, and conventional weapons that often end up in the hands of destabilizing forces, including terrorist organizations,” he added.
