The secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, on Thursday received Magdalena Grono, the European Union (EU) Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia.

The meeting discussed the security situation and current challenges in the South Caucasus.

The interlocutors exchanged views also on the process of normalizing of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In this connection, the secretary of the Security Council of Armenia once again reaffirmed Armenia's readiness to sign a peace agreement as soon as possible, which will guide the region towards lasting peace and stability.

Matters on the agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership were also touched upon.
