Armenia is our partner in the process of deepening and expanding the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). This was stated by China's chargé d'affaires in Armenia, Chen Ming, during a respective seminar on Thursday.

Chen called China and Armenia good friends and reliable partners who build their cooperation on the basis of respect and mutual benefit. According to him, the two parties continue to strengthen cooperation in various domains and provide support to each other on matters related to their core interests, as well as closely cooperate within the framework of multilateral organizations such as the SCO and the UN. The Chinese diplomat added that his country and Armenia uphold a genuine multilateral approach as well as the shared interests of both parties and the entire developing world.

Chen recalled that at the SCO summit in Ufa, Russia in 2015, Armenia was granted the status of a dialogue partner, and in 2016, it officially became a dialogue partner of the organization. Chen Ming noted that in recent years, Armenia has been actively participating in various events within the framework of the SCO.

"During its chairmanship at the organization, China welcomes the Armenian party's participation in practical cooperation within the framework of the SCO, to jointly promote its further development and contribute to regional stability and security, as well as emphasized the shared development and prosperity," said the Chinese chargé d'affaires in Armenia.
