The Zhoghovurd newspaper of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: The state housing assistance program for forcibly displaced persons from Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh; NK)] is the program [in Armenia] that has undergone the most changes, within the framework of which thousands of Artsakh [former] residents are facing problems.

(…). Artsakh [former] residents are concerned about a number of problems with the housing assistance program, due to the presence of which they cannot apply for the program.

One of these problems is that after providing an apartment, 10 years later, the 3-4 million drams allocated by the state for purchasing an apartment must be returned to the state, and this has worried them.

Moreover, they were told that if any family member leaves for permanent residence abroad, the apartment will in fact not be provided to them. And the apartment can in general become property of the state after 10 years, as, for example, in the case of the current mortgage loan procedure.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs [of Armenia] conveyed to the Zhoghovurd daily that there is no such condition in the State Support Program for Housing Provision for Families Forcibly Displaced from the NK.

It should be noted that up to this point, the total number of people who have applied for the program and received a certificate has been 920.

At the end of last year, 103,674 Artsakh Armenians had settled in Armenia, of which only 0.8% have applied for the housing provision program.

And yesterday, the Government [of Armenia] actually hinted that even monetary support will be gradually reduced.
