The Board of Directors of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) approved three transactions amounting to more than $350 million in financing to support domestic exports and Bank priorities, the bank informed in a statement.

One of these transactions was the approval of a loan of more than $339 million for the Silk Way West Airlines of Azerbaijan, which transports weapons for Baku.

"The aircraft are expected to be delivered by Spring 2026. The transactions will support an estimated 700 jobs," the EXIM statement said.

Back in August 2010, RFE/RL had reported that one of the shareholders of Silk Way was the family of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
