Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan reacted to US President Donald Trump's threats against Iran in an interview with Reuters, saying the region cannot allow another war.

“Our region cannot allow another war, another serious source of instability. And we don't know what kind of escalation could happen in case of such an attack. So we don't want (the U.S.) to launch any attack on Iran. We need both sides and the concerned parties to negotiate peacefully as they have done in the past,” Fidan said.

US President Donald Trump, in an interview with NBC News in late March, threatened Iran with “bombings” and “secondary tariffs” if the country does not strike a deal with the US guaranteeing it will not develop nuclear weapons.

“If they don't make a deal, the bombings will start. It's going to be bombings the likes of which they've never seen before,” Trump said of Iran.
