About 80% of the Republican Party supporters in the US oppose providing financial assistance to the Ukrainian authorities. This is evidenced by the results of a public opinion poll conducted for The Wall Street Journal.
Accordingly, 79% of the Republican Party supporters opposed providing aid to Ukraine. But 83% of the Democratic Party voters surveyed have the opposite opinion.
The poll results show the extreme polarization of US voters' opinions on some other matters as well. A total of 81% of Republican Party supporters agreed with the view that it is necessary to stop spending American taxpayer money on the security of US allies. But 83% of Democratic Party supporters think differently, calling international alliances a source of strength for the United States.
A total of 71 percent of Republican Party supporters back the trade tariffs announced by US President Donald Trump, whereas 93 percent of Democratic Party supporters believe that these tariffs will have negative consequences for the United States, too.
