Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Iva Petrova, head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission in Armenia, who is concluding her mission in the country. The meeting was attended also by Alexander Tieman, who will serve as the next head of the IMF mission in Armenia, the PM’s office informs.

The premier emphasized the importance of cooperation with the IMF in contributing to the development of the economy in Armenia. Pashinyan noted that in the first quarter of this year, economic activity trends are maintained in Armenia, and the respective actions by the Armenian government are aimed at ensuring sustainable economic growth.

The interlocutors discussed the results of the fifth review of the program being implemented in cooperation between Armenia and the IMF. In this regard, the parties expressed satisfaction with the results of the program and reflected on further steps.

Also, they exchanged views on the financial sector, improvement of the investment environment, promotion of economic activity, overcoming existing risks, and some other matters.
