Armenia ready to verify, with the involvement of international experts, the accuracy of the minefield maps handed over to Azerbaijan. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia, Ani Badalyan, noted this on X—and referring to Baku's accusations that Yerevan has provided incomplete minefield maps to Azerbaijan.

“Emphasizing the importance of addressing humanitarian issues, on June 12, July 3, October 19, November 1 & November 29, 2021 Armenia unilaterally provided Azerbaijan with 972 registries of minefields without preconditions. Moreover, remaining committed to the principles of cooperation on humanitarian issues, Armenia compiled through inquiries & transferred new minefield registries to Azerbaijan in early 2024.

Azerbaijan continuously questions the accuracy of these maps, despite our repeated statements that there are no ‘better or more accurate’ maps. Armenia, both previously and now, is ready to verify the accuracy of these maps with the involvement of int’l experts.

We would like to add that the International Court of Justice unequivocally rejected the request to apply a provisional measure against Armenia, in which Azerbaijan had accused Armenia of mining activities,” wrote the Armenian MFA spox.
