Armenia's GDP is growing at seven-mile paces. Armenia currently has the fastest economic growth in the entire planet—thanks to parallel imports and the union of our countries in the EAEU. This was stated by Russian State Duma member Alena Arshinova—and within the framework of a Eurasian international forum.

“As for interstate relations, there is some turbulence now, as the leadership of Armenia is making statements that we will develop the Eurasian Economic Union together, but we see that the National Assembly of Armenia has made a decision on European integration, and we see that Armenia can follow the path of Moldova. We see that the people of Armenia are in favor of Eurasian integration, and decisions are being made at a high level in the country for rapprochement with the European Union. Of course, we cannot allow an imbalance. Moving away from our closest neighbors, as RF [i.e. Russian Federation] Deputy Prime Minister [Alexei] Overchuk said, if Armenia enters the European Union, then it leaves the Eurasian Union, these are mutually exclusive factors,” the Russian lawmaker said.

Also, Arshinova emphasized that without Russian energy resources, Russian investments, and traditional Armenian-Russian relations, everything will not develop like this.

“There will be turbulence. When there is a break with the traditional economy, when economic ties are broken, an intermediary inevitably comes—I mean the EU—and begins to shape the country for itself, begins to interfere in pricing, what will happen to European counters where Armenian products are not needed, what will happen to the counters of the Armenian market,” the Russian MP said.
