The first details about the large Lexus three-series electric vehicle have become known.

A full-size SUV with an electric powertrain is in the development stage, Carscoops reports. This new model will be called TZ. Lexus has already registered the trademarks TZ450e and TZ550e for it. According to unofficial data, the Toyota bZ5X platform will be used as the basis, and the designers will borrow some stylistic solutions from the Lexus Electrified SUV concept presented back in 2021.

The Lexus TZ will be an electric alternative to the fuel-powered TX, and the Kia EV9 is already listed as its main competitor, reports Motoru.ru. There are no spy photos yet, let alone teasers of the model, but we can already get an idea of the possible design of this model, based on the unofficial render published by Carscoops.

The obvious imitations from the Electrified SUV show car from four years ago doesn't escape the eye: a similar design of the front end with narrowed optics and a flat grille instead of a radiator grille, the same massive rear lights, and a large window section behind the third pillars.

It is not ruled out that the Lexus TZ450e will be offered with a 77 kWh battery, which is already offered for the new RZ. But the “senior” modification, designated TZ550e, will require a larger battery.

It is logical to assume that the versions will differ in capacity, too. For example, the aforementioned RZ has a front-wheel drive version, the RZ350e, with a single 224-horsepower electric motor, while the 500e is equipped with two electric motors that produce a total of 375 horsepower. There is also a “sporty” RZ 550e F Sport model with a dual motor with 402 horsepower. An F Sport version could also be offered for the TZ.
