The heads of the Iranian and Russian foreign ministries will discuss the situation in the South Caucasus. Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), stated this at Thursday’s press briefing.

“On April 17-18, the head of the Iranian foreign ministry will be on a working visit to Moscow; his negotiations will be held with his Russian counterpart. The heads of the [two] foreign policy departments will continue a detailed exchange of views on current international and regional issues, including Iran’s nuclear program, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the state of affairs around Syria, Transcaucasia [i.e. the South Caucasus], and the Caspian Sea,” Zakharova said.
