Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi stated after his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, at the Kremlin, that it was a very good meeting, reports IRNA.

"We had very important discussions, the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia have never been as strong, good, and based on mutual respect and interests as they are today.

The recently signed comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement between Iran and Russia has raised the level of relations between the two countries to a strategic level. We [i.e. Iran] maintain close cooperation and consultations with our Russian friends in all international domains," the Iranian FM said.

He added that the close cooperation between Iran and Russia will continue in the future "with greater intensity and momentum."
