Exhibitions dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will open this week in Armenia and abroad. This was stated Monday during a press conference by the director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute (AGMI), Edita Gzoyan.

Accordingly, a temporary exhibition titled “Documenting the Crime: Eyewitness Documenters of the Armenian Genocide” will open Wednesday at AGMI.

“In its scope, depth and nature, the exhibition will be unique, as it is dedicated to the 110th anniversary [of the Armenian Genocide]. We will touch on all those people who were in the Ottoman Empire during the years of the Armenian Genocide, and were documenting the crime in various ways—through investigative materials, photographs. In addition to diplomats and journalists from about 26 countries, we also have a special focus on the Ottoman Empire, since there were also people there who were documenting the genocide,” Gzoyan added.

According to her, exhibitions have opened and will open abroad as well on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The opening of one such exhibition was held in Bucharest.

Similar exhibitions will open in Moscow and St. Petersburg on Wednesday and Thursday.

“We will have an exhibition in Poland on April 23 and 24, the traveling exhibition in the US will take place in April, May and June; there is also a preliminary agreement to hold an exhibition in Brazil, too. The exhibitions abroad were organized with posters with photos of the exhibits,” noted Edita Gzoyan.
