The US may ask Turkey not to interfere and to remain neutral in the use of Syrian airspace in the event of a conflict with Iran, sources say, Hurriyet daily reports.

If the talks between the US and Iran do not end successfully, Iran will become one of the items on the agenda of the meeting between Turkish and US presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Donald Trump. Erdogan is against an Israeli attack on Iran, and he considers it risky for the region.

Trump may visit Turkey in May as part of his Middle East tour, Hurriyet added.

Trump could come to Turkey after visiting Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. But if not, Erdogan’s visit to the US is slated for June, the aforesaid daily noted.
