The ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party has pledged the population that the country will be more ready to join the European Union (EU) by the year 2030 than other candidate countries.

“Although the European bureaucracy is still busy blackmailing Georgia and attempting to bring undemocratic forces back to power, we assure the society that our political team will handle all challenges with dignity and that Georgia will be better prepared than all [other] candidate countries for the European Union expansion announced by 2030,” the party said in a statement on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of its foundation.

Also, Georgian Dream hopes that by then “Brussels' bureaucracy will be replaced by a dignified, independent and future-oriented political elite oriented towards the future of the European Union and Europe.”

In its statement, the ruling party notes that Georgia is “independent and sovereign today, as never before,” and no one can force its leadership to take steps contrary to the country’s interests.

“The Georgian Dream government acts by the protection of national interests of Georgia and will never compromise at the expense of these interests,” the statement adds.
