At some point, passions ran high in the sessions’ hall of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, and things reached the point of shouting at and hitting each other.

First, a verbal spat broke out between NA speaker Alen Simonyan, who was chairing the session, and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party members of the opposition “Armenia” Faction.

When these opposition MPs tried to object from their seats, the NA speaker said that they had no right to speak.

Subsequently, the situation in the NA sessions’ hall became tense, Vahe Ghalumyan from the ruling faction and the lawmakers from the “Armenia” Faction began to push each other. Others also intervened, and many of them tried to separate these MPs.

And upon the instruction of Alen Simonyan, the live broadcast was turned off and a 20-minute intermission was announced.
