An official commemoration event dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was held Wednesday at the square near the city hall of the 15th arrondissement of Paris.
Mayor of the 15th arrondissement of Paris Philippe Goujon, members of the 15th arrondissement city council, and representatives of French Armenian community organizations attended the ceremony and laid wreaths in memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
Also, the national anthems of Armenia and France were played at the end of this event.
This year marks the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Every year on April 24, hundreds of thousands of Armenians silently march to the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan, and lay flowers in memory of the approximately 1.5 million victims of this tragedy.
