A commemorative event dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was held Thursday at the Armenian embassy in Beijing, China.

The event kicked off with a ceremony of laying flowers and burning incense at the Armenian cross-stone on the embassy grounds, followed by candlelight vigils, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Next, those in attendance listened to an excerpt from a documentary about renowned Armenian priest and musicologist Komitas, followed by remarks by the Armenian ambassador to China, Vahe Gevorgyan.

In his remarks, the ambassador commemorated the victims of the Armenian Genocide, and touched upon the efforts by the survivors of the Genocide toward the restoration of Armenian statehood, and the spiritual, economic, and cultural revival of the Armenian people.

The event was attended by the staff of the Armenian embassy in China, Armenian students studying at universities in Beijing, and citizens of Armenia.
