Russian President Vladimir Putin has confirmed the readiness of the Russian side to negotiate with Ukraine without preconditions at a meeting with US Presidential Special Envoy Steven Witkoff. The Russian leader's spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters in response to a relevant question, TASS reports.
“During yesterday's communication with Trump's envoy Witkoff, Vladimir Putin repeated that the Russian side is ready to resume the negotiation process with Ukraine without any preconditions,” the Kremlin spokesman said.
Peskov recalled that earlier “Putin has said this many times.”
Friday was the fourth meeting between the Russian president and the U.S. leader's special envoy since the beginning of the year. Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said the conversation lasted three hours and was “constructive and very useful in nature.” US President Donald Trump called Whitkoff's meeting with Putin a good one.
