US President Donald Trump has again called on his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to show a commitment to peace and stop the fighting in Ukraine.

“I want him [i.e. Putin] to stop shooting, sit down, and sign a deal,” Trump told reporters. “We have the confines of a deal, I believe. And I want him to sign it.”

Also, Trump said overnight that his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Vatican on Saturday had gone very well.

The US president had added that he believes Zelenskyy is interested in signing a peace deal.
