Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: With his official visit paid to Estonia, [Armenian PM] Nikol Pashinyan is trying to soften the West's attitude towards him so that his upcoming visit to Moscow becomes possible. The West has openly given him an ultimatum regarding his departure for the Victory [Day] [military] parade in Moscow on May 9, and Pashinyan was also told that the warming of Armenian-Russian relations is not acceptable for them.

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, publicly announced weeks ago that EU candidate countries should not participate in the Moscow military parade. And the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Baiba Braze, had hinted at possible imposing of sanctions against those who violate this ban.

Let us note that although Armenia is not a candidate for EU membership, the RA NA [(National Assembly)] has passed the draft law “On the launch of the RA accession process to the European Union.” Kaja Kallas is an Estonian, she previously held the post of prime minister of the country. Pashinyan, according to the opinion circulating in the [Armenian] ruling [political] team, specially traveled to Estonia before Moscow to reaffirm his loyalty to the West and send a message that he is forced to go to Moscow to prevent the expected blow from Russia.

Yesterday, he even honored the memory of the victims of communism in [the Estonian capital] Tallinn. In 1949, by decision of the USSR Council of Ministers, 22 thousand Estonians were exiled to the Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, and Omsk regions.
