In recent times, relations between Armenia and Georgia have been distinguished by great activeness and expanding content. This was stated by Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan during a joint press conference with visiting Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Tuesday.

"The interstate relations of Armenia and Georgia are based on the logic of strategic partnership, democratic values, the sovereignty of our states, and the shared Christian value system of the two friendly peoples and the vision of a shared future.

Periodic visits at the highest and high levels continue, cooperation in all domains of the public administration system is developing and deepening.

The unprecedented intensification of cooperation in recent years, the establishment of strategic partnership have created stable foundations and obligate us to multiply efforts to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation," Khachaturyan said.

Also, the Armenian president attached importance to the statements by Armenia and Georgia on the recognition of each other's territorial integrity as a factor in the strengthening of stability and peace in the South Caucasus.

“Our relations with Georgia are developing in both bilateral and multilateral formats. Today, my colleague and I touched upon a wide range of matters on the Armenia-Georgia bilateral agenda, including matters related to the political, economic, educational, cultural, sports, and youth domains. We exchanged views also on a number of issues of international importance, geopolitical developments, and regional prospects.

Concluding my remarks, I would like to express confidence that Armenia and Georgia will continue to deepen and strengthen partnership relations for the benefit of our [two] friendly peoples and the entire region,” the concluded the Armenian president.
