Armenia has decided to open an embassy in Oman, for which the government—by its decision Wednesday—allocated 51,880,000 drams (approx. US$133,420) to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This amount will be earmarked from the government's reserve fund.

The rationale for this decision states that in recent years, there has been activeness in the friendly relations between the two countries, and there is potential for cooperation in mutual trade, cargo transportation, air communication, information technology, education, science, culture, and tourism.

Also, Oman, thanks to its balanced foreign policy, positions itself as a neutral state in regional processes, contributing to the development of dialogue and cooperation between regional powers.

The costs of opening Armenia’s embassy in Oman have been calculated at Armenian drams equivalent of $345,700.
