Food and drinking water supplies in the Gaza Strip are at nearly zero levels exactly two months after the start of the Israeli authorities’ complete blockade of humanitarian and food supply to this Palestinian enclave. This was announced by Olga Cherevko, spokesperson for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Gaza, at a press briefing in Geneva, Switzerland.

According to Cherevko, since the beginning of the blockade of the Gaza Strip, the countdown to the implementation of the worst-case scenario has begun. Thus, fuel in this Palestinian enclave is now being distributed strictly in order to ensure only the most essential operations. Food supplies are almost run out, access to water is becoming impossible, and hospitals are reporting that their blood supplies are running out as the mass arrival of injured continues, the OCHA spox emphasized.
