The new Chinese ambassador to Armenia, Li Xinwei, presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan.

The president congratulated the newly appointed Chinese ambassador, and expressed hope that thanks to his work, cooperation between the two countries will further expand, covering new domains.

"Armenia-China relations are one of the priorities of our foreign policy. Our friendly and traditional relations also obligate us to further develop and expand the centuries-old traditions of our cooperation and create new opportunities for our countries and peoples to get to know each other better, for cooperation and friendship," the president of Armenia noted.

The newly appointed Chinese ambassador, for his part, stressed that he will make every effort to expand the Armenia-China partnership.

"Armenia is one of China's important partners, and I will do everything within my capabilities and possibilities to assist our countries for further expansion of cooperation,” the Chinese diplomat noted.

During the meeting that followed, the interlocutors discussed in detail the potential of economic cooperation between the two countries, noting that it is indispensable to take steps to fully realize this potential. The importance of effective and continuous interaction at various levels was emphasized, which can create a solid foundation for further the deepening of bilateral relations.

Also, the president of Armenia stressed the need for high-level contacts and active political dialogue as a key factor in the strengthening of bilateral relations. Special attention was paid to the development of parliamentary diplomacy, which was considered a new platform for dialogue to expand cooperation in various domains.

During the talk, the ongoing direct flights between Armenia and China was positively assessed, viewing it as a practical step that contributes to the deepening of political, economic, cultural, and tourism ties between the two countries.
