Baku accuses Moscow of delaying the investigation into the crash of an Azerbaijani passenger plane.

“Despite five months passed since the AZAL flight en route from Baku to Grozny crashed near Aktau Airport, Russian authorities have yet to release any concrete information regarding the investigation,” APA reports.

“An investigation by APA has revealed that the Azerbaijani side submits inquiries to Russia on this matter every month. However, the Russian side delays the investigation with various excuses and fails to respond to these inquiries," APA added.

"During these 5 months, no investigative actions have been carried out by Russia. None of the individuals responsible for or guilty of causing the crash have been subjected to any arrest or preventive measures," a source stated.

The source added that there was a recent exchange of correspondence between Azerbaijani and Russian law enforcement entities regarding the issue, but again, no results were achieved: "The Azerbaijani side is expecting concrete steps from Russia on the matter."
