The "trial" of world-famous Armenian philanthropist, former state minister of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Ruben Vardanyan resumed Tuesday in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

According to Azerbaijani media, Vardanyan's lawyer Abraham Berman stated that after studying the "minutes of the hearing" of February 6, the grounds for filing a complaint with the "judicial panel" were revealed. The lawyer noted that the minutes of this "court hearing" do not reflect the defense's motions, and this raises reasonable doubts that the "judicial panel" will not be objective and impartial in this case. Therefore, the lawyer filed an appeal with the "court."

According to information, Ruben Vardanyan supported the complaint. Azerbaijani prosecutor general’s senior assistant, Vyusal Aliyev, expressing his attitude to the complaint, said that the defense has the right to express comments on the accuracy and completeness of the recording in the minutes of the “court hearing.” However, not including any information in the minutes of the “court hearing” is not a basis for filing a complaint with the judicial panel.

Aliyev asked the “court” not to consider this complaint. The “injured parties” who participated in the process also asked the “court” not to grant the complaint.

The “court” left for the consultation room to consider the motion. After the hearing, the “court” decision on the defense’s complaint was announced.
